Israel Airline Assists In Transporting Americans Home

With major airlines, suspending direct flights from the U.S. to Israel, Israel Airline EL AL, has assisted in the efforts to return Americans back home. The airline is continuing to run direct flights from Tel Aviv to the United States.

Two such flights arrived this morning to Newark Airport in New Jersey. Over 3,000 Americans so far, have left Israel and the West Bank either through commercial flights or through a land border, according to the state department.

Almost 1,000 Americans have evacuated on government charted planes and ships. It has been difficult for the passengers because those charters were not direct means of transportation back to the U.S. and multiple channels were needed to return home.

Government charter flights will continue until at least Thursday.
