Sole Survivor Escapes Air India Crash

Viswash Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national of Indian origin is the sole survivor of London-bound Air India plane crash. The flight, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crewmembers crashed into a medical college and hospital building just minutes after take off Thursday.
Along with the 241 Air India passengers and crew, five medical students inside the building also perished. Among the fatalities was Ramesh’s brother Ajay.
Ramesh said, “Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly… Everything happened in front of my eyes. I thought I would die.”
Ramesh was in seat 11A, now being deemed as the “miracle of seat 11A” which was near the emergency exit where he was able to squeeze through a broken hatch after unbuckling his seatbelt. Ramesh is recovering and under observation at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad with burns and bruises.
