After several days this week, as the wildfires in Canada continue to blaze on, smoke
and haze are still seeping down into the U.S.
Air quality is affecting the lives of many. Smoke was visible and present as far south
as South Carolina.
Air quality has been altered in the Northeast, Ohio Valley, and Mid-Atlantic regions.
The FAA delayed several flights at 5 major U.S. airports, including, New York, New
Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina.
New York is at the top of the list for worst air quality, at code purple.
The New York Yankees game was also postponed on Wednesday due to the smoke
and hazardous air quality.
Governor Kathy Hochul, has advised all citizens to stay inside if possible. Hochul is
providing about 1 million N95 masks, at several locations throughout New York
City, if must go outside.
Smoke is expected to subside within the next couple days. Hoping this weekend will
bring some relief to all impacted by this.
