Trump Announces Hamas Released Last American Hostage

After 19 months of captivity, President Donald Trump announced that Hamas agreed to release the last known living American hostage, Edan Alexander.  

Hamas has held him hostage since they attacked southern Isreal on October 7th, 2023. Alexander was held for 584 days.

The Trump administration and his negotiations team led by Steve Witkoff have been working tirelessly to secure his release.  

On the plane ride home Alexander held up a white board with "Thank you President Trump" on it.
