Three More Escapees Captured & More Arrested in NOLO

Three more prison escapees have been captured in New Orleans, LA. A total of 8 prisoners have now been caught and are back in custody after 10 escaped the Orleans Parish Jail on May 16. Two remain on the loose.


Lenton Vanburen was found and arrested in Baton Rouge and was originally charged with parole violation, possession of firearm by felon and illegal carrying of a weapon. 

Jermaine Donald and Leo Tate were found and arrested North of Houston, in Walker County, Texas. The two led authorities on a high-speed chase before they were taken into custody. Donald was originally charged with second-degree murder, aggravated batter, possession of a firearm or weapon by a felon and obstruction of justice. Tate was originally charged with possession of a firearm or weapon by a felon, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, illegal carry of a weapon, motor vehicle theft and multiple drug counts.


All three will face additional charges in connection with the escape. 


There have been additional arrests for allegedly assisting the fugitives; Diamond White, 21, Lenton Vanburen Sr., 47, Lenika Vanburen, 28, Patricia Vanburen, 18, Tyshanea “Minnie” Randolph, 27, Casey Smith, 30 and Angel McKey, 40. There have been 13 arrests for assisting these prisoners so far.


Attorney General Liz Murrill posted on X, “If anyone else is helping out the remaining two escapees they will also be arrested and prosecuted. We will not tolerate it.”

Two prisoners remain at large including Antoine Massey and Derrick Groves, both considered armed and dangerous.


There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to their arrest.
