On June 18, 1928, Amelia Earhart became the first woman passenger to fly across the Atlantic aboard the Fokker Friendship. Earhart accompanied pilots Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon. In later years, in May of 1932, Earhart was able to fly herself across the Atlantic.
