On June 2, 1935, Babe Ruth retired from Major League Baseball after 22 seasons. Born George Herman Ruth, he was one of the greatest players in history ending his career with 714 homeruns and playing in 10 World Series, winning 7, 3 with the Red Sox (1915, 1916 and 1918) and 4 with the Yankees (1923, 1927, 1928 and 1932).
