On May 2, 1933, the legend of the Loch Ness Monster began when a sighting made the local news. A newspaper Inverness Courier reported the sighting and became a media phenomenon. Although it has never been confirmed nor has any proof been found of what the creature is that supposedly lives in Loch Ness, Scotland, it is widely thought to be a myth which still has tourists and investigators flocking to.
