On April 17, 1964, the Ford Mustang is unveiled to the public at the World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York. The Mustang was also debuted in several showrooms nationwide. More than 418,000 Mustangs were sold during its first year, which exceeded previous records of any Ford model at that time.
