On March 6, 1899, Bayer aspirin was patented. Felix Hoffmann, a German chemist created the aspirin in 1897 after he found a way to modify salicylic acid to create acetylsalicylic acid – aspirin. The drug was originally in powder form and made into tablet form in 1915.
