On January 24, 1908, the Boy Scout movement began in England when Lieutenant General Robert Baden-Powell published Scouting for Boys. The book came after Baden-Powell’s experimental camp with a group of about 20 adolescent boys, under the aid of instructors, teaching the boys about boating, camping, chivalry, deduction, lifesaving, observation, patriotism and woodcraft.
