On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade. In a 7-2 decision, it was established that a woman had legal right to have an abortion. The ruling decided that a woman’s right to choose abortion was protected by the privacy rights guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
