MLB Suspends Alvarado

Major League Baseball has announced that they have suspended Philadelphia Phillies closer José Alvarado for 80 games after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug exogenous testosterone.
Alvarado has worked 20 innings this season with 7 saves and a 2.70 ERA.
When he returns from suspension, Alvarado will not be eligible to pitch in the postseason.
Alvarado is in the last season of a 3-year contract. The Phillies hold a $9 million club option for 2026.
