Massive Power Outage in Portugal & Spain

A massive power outage has hit Portugal and Spain, leaving millions without electricity at about 11:33 a.m. on Monday local time. (6:33 a.m. ET) The entire Iberian Peninsula, in southwestern Europe, is in darkness.
The blackout is said to stretch from Madrid to Lisbon. Parts of France has also been hit with the outage, but has since been restored. Belgium is also being said to have outages as well.
The Portuguese national electricity grid Rede Electrica Nacional (REN) said, “All plans to restore the energy supply in stages are being activated, in coordination with European energy producers and operators.”
The Spanish power grid Red Electrica posted on X, “Power supply restoration plans have been activated in collaboration with industry companies following the power outage on the peninsula. The causes are being analyzed and all resources are being dedicated to solving it.”
