Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Emiliano Garduno-Galvez, a previously deported illegal immigrant from Mexico.
Department of Homeland Secretary, (DHS) Tricia McLaughlin said, “This is a Mexican national who is in our country illegally. He is being charged with attempted murder at throwing Molotov cocktails at our law enforcement officers, at our ICE enforcement officers, but this is not his first run in with the law. Just last year he was charged with a DUI as well as grand larceny. This is the perfect example of people who should not be in this country.”
McLaughlin added anyone laying a hand on law enforcement would be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
LA has been experiencing days of riots with agitators looting businesses, throwing bricks, fireworks and Molotov cocktails at officers and their vehicles, setting fire to cars, breaking windows and graffitiing property.
In a White House briefing, Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said, “That since June 6th, there have been 330 illegal aliens that have been arrested as part of these riots in Los Angeles; 113 of those illegal aliens, had prior criminal convictions. Over all, and this included American citizens, there’s been 157 people arrested for assault and obstruction related charges including the attempted murder of a police officer with a Molotov cocktail.”
