General Motors (GM) is recalling nearly 600,000 full-sized SUVs and trucks because there’s a risk of the V8 engines failing without warning due to a defect in the connecting rod and crankshaft engine components.
GM has begun issuing recall letters to vehicle owners. Customers can also check if their vehicle is on the list using either the NHTSA site or GM’s recall lookup.
Dealerships will inspect affected models and repair or replace all parts (and labor) for free.
