Ananda Lewis has Passed Away

Former MTV VJ and talk show host of MTV’s ‘ Total Request Live’ and ‘ Hot Zone ‘ Ananda Lewis died at the age of 52 on Wednesday, June 11th, following a battle with breast cancer.

Lewis began her career in 1993 on BET landing a role as the host of “ Teen Summit. “ In 2001 she had her own talk show called “ The Ananda Lewis Show. “ By 2004 she was a correspondent on “The Insider. “

Ananda Lewis tried a range of “alternative methods “ to help with her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, including ceasing consumption of alcohol and sugar.

Sadly Lewis refused to undergo medical recommendations of a double mastectomy followed by rounds of chemotherapy and progressed to stage 4 breast cancer losing her battle.
